The Middlesex Regiment Journals

middlesex regimentThe Journals of the Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge’s Own), known as the "Diehards", are a valuable source of information about the Regiment from the end of the Great War until its amalgamation in 1966. Thereafter it is the story of the Regimental Association.

The period covered includes the two world wars, and Korea, and records the reduction of the Regiment from 46 battalions at the end of the Great War to one regular and one territorial battalion by 1960. The National Service years (1949-1963) may be of interest to students of the social history of the post-war years.

Accounts of Regimental events, postings, statements of the locations and promotions of officers, and senior non-commissioned officers are all included in the Journals.
